“Introduction to Marsden-Weinstein Symplectic Reduction”

We will give an introduction to the theory of Marsden-Weinstein symplectic reduction, which produces a symplectic manifold as the quotient of the level set of the moment map by the action of a compact Lie group. No background in symplectic geometry will be assumed, but standard results from smooth manifold theory and Lie groups will be used throughout.
