C-Rings” Abstract

Elements of commutative algebras over a fixed field can be used to evaluate polynomials in any (finite) number of variables with coefficients in that field. We will discuss R-algebras whose elements can be inserted into any smooth function unambiguously, not just polynomials. These algebras will allow us to better understand the functor of points in differential geometry.
