"Introduction to Intersection Theory (feat. Chow Ring)"

As a first talk of the learning seminar, I will go over the general viewpoint of intersection theory in algebraic geometry, motivated by extending Bezout's Theorem. As an analogy to the singular cohomology ring for real compact manifolds, I will define the Chow ring; the interesection (product) of elements of Chow ring is an analog of cup product. Then, I will explain some simple examples (affine and projective spaces) along with some general properties. No background in schemes is assumed.
