"Amenability constant gaps for central Fourier algebras"

In this lecture I will talk about amenability constant gap results for various Banach algebras of functions on locally compact groups. In particular when restricting to the case of finite groups the amenability constants for several notable algebras can be calculated using representation theory, which opens the door to the use of computational methods with computer algebra systems like GAP and Sage. I will discuss recent investigations of this nature on the central Fourier algebra, which for a finite group is just the class functions equipped with the Fourier algebra norm.
