“More on the Beurling-Selberg function”

In this talk we will complete the proof of the basic large sieve inequality by proving the necessary lemmas involving the Beurling-Selberg function. If time permits, we will also go over some examples of the use of the Beurling-Selberg function as a smooth weight function in diophantine geometry.
