SAGBI basis for quiver semi-invariants using linked tableaux

There is a well-known construction of a SAGBI basis for the co-ordinate ring of a Grassmannian that is described using semi-standard young tableaux. Kalashnikov and Heuberger generalized parts of this theory to arbitrary moduli spaces of quiver representations by introducing linked tableaux sets, and then used these to describe a SAGBI basis for the semi-invariants of the Kronecker quiver. In this talk I will discuss the further extension of this theory to provide a SAGBI basis for any acyclic quiver, indexed by the semi-standard linked tableaux sets of an associated bipartite quiver.

From 10:30-11:00 there will be a pre-seminar where we go over Young Tableaux and their relationship to semi-invariants of the Grassmannian.

In https://arxiv.org/abs/2209.10645, Chifan Ioana and Kunnawalkam Elayavalli construct a separable II_1 factor without property Gamma and which is not elementarily equivalent to any II_1 factor with positive 1-bounded entropy (e.g. free group factors). We present the construction of this II_1 factor.

Operator algebras, conformal field theory and condensed matter physics

We present an operator algebraic approach to conformal field theory in connection to other topics such as vertex operator algebras, quantum groups and quantum invariants in low-dimensional topology, which started with subfactor theory of Jones. We then present recent advances on similar mathematical structures that appear in two-dimensional condenses matter physics such as quantum spin systems, tensor networks and topological quantum computation. No knowledge on operator algebras are assumed.
