On Tuesday, May 29th the Department of Pure Mathematics hosted a coffee and chat with University of British Columbia's Math Professor, Dr. Malabika Pramanik. All women in mathematics graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and faculty members were invited.
Short Bio: Dr. Pramanik is a professor at the University of British Columbia and has won awards for both her research and her teaching. She has been very actively involved in encouraging women in mathematics, including as organizer and guest speaker at conferences and workshops for women mathematicians. She has served on the Canadian Math Society - Women in Math Committee and is currently a Vice President of the CMS.
