Anti-racism report released

In 2020, Waterloo formed the President’s Anti-Racism Taskforce (PART) and made a public commitment to engage our community and address systemic racism across our campuses. Two years later, PART has released a report with a comprehensive set of recommendations. See president Vivek Goel's response and read the report.

Six University of Waterloo researchers were awarded funding through the Government of Canada’s New Frontiers in Research Fund.

The funding was part of a national announcement of $45-million by the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry and the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Health.

Remembering Professor Ernest Holmes

A retired engineering professor who played a significant role in developing the University’s relationship with industry and Waterloo’s IP policy has passed away.

Professor Ernest Holmes was described as one of the most important figures in Waterloo’s early years by Ken McLaughlin, University of Waterloo Professor Emeritus and Waterloo author and historian.
