Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC)

SSHRC continually posts open-topic and strategic-topic research funding opportunities on its website. SSHRC research grants fall into two programs: Insight Research and Research Partnerships.

Internal deadlines apply for all SSHRC funding opportunities. Specific deadlines and related application information and resources for routine SSHRC funding opportunities are available on the internal SSHRC Application Resources Sharepoint (log in required). A minimum internal final submission deadline of five (5) business days in advance of SSHRC's deadline applies to all SSHRC grant applications. In some cases, internal deadlines are as much as 5 weeks prior to the SSHRC deadline due to matching and/or safeguarding research requirements. An approved cover sheet for sponsored research must be in place before the Office of Research may forward an application to SSHRC.

If you plan to apply, please let the UW SSHRC team from the Office of Research know as soon as possible.

Insight Research supports individual scholars and research teams to build knowledge and understanding about people, societies and the world.

Research Partnerships provides opportunities for researchers across disciplines, research areas and sectors to work together with partners to build understanding and advance knowledge through research partnerships and collaborative knowledge mobilization activities.
