Friday, June 11, 2021

A team of engineering students at the University of Waterloo, supported by the RoboHub, WEEF, and several other on-campus groups, has climbed to the top of the standings in an international robotics competition.

The UWAT VEX U team, which has been growing steadily since its launch in 2018, has been ranked first among 77 teams from around the world, including China, Mexico, Spain and Morocco, in the VEX U event operated by the Robotics Education and Competition Foundation.

The team won four regional skills championships and an excellence award for the top team in areas including design, programming and management. It has one event left in the 2020-2021 season, which was modified to a virtual format due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
