World-renowned roboticist named to prestigious Waterloo post joins RoboHub's core research team

Professor Katja Mombaur, an engineer and mathematician based at Heidelberg University in Germany, is a renowned international expert in human-centred robotics who will be joining Waterloo Engineering in March of next year to lead a major research program. To help support this new research program, Mombaur will also be joining the RoboHub as a new member of our core research team.

Mombaur is the third Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) appointed to the University of Waterloo under a federal program that is one of the most prestigious and generous in the world. This chair provides $10 million in federal government funding over seven years to go with more than $15 in support from the University.
