Overview
Graduate Peer Success Coaches (GPSCs) support the Student Success Office by facilitating one‑on‑one coaching, leading workshops, and contributing to transition and outreach activities. GPSCs take on expanded leadership and administrative responsibilities such as helping to train undergraduate and graduate PSCs, supporting hiring activities, delivering workshops, liaising with academic support units, and ensuring that resources for graduate students remain current.
Key Responsibilities
- Host coaching appointments in person or from a private virtual‑meeting space.
- Work 5–6 hours/week (up to 10), including some evenings/weekends.
- Commit to at least two terms in the 2026–27 academic year.
- Participate in pre‑service training, weekly PD, and team meetings.
- Provide informed guidance regarding graduate student academic and program processes.
- Prepare for workshops and appointments using relevant academic resources.
- Complete administrative duties including attendance, payroll, student feedback, in‑session forms, reflections, program feedback, and other tasks.
- Support training delivery, hiring processes, and workshop organization.
Required Qualifications
- Registered graduate student in good academic standing.
- Understanding of important elements of graduate student life, such as research demands, coursework requirements and the management of competing priorities.
- Strong communication, leadership, professionalism, and experience with diverse student populations.
- Initiative and follow‑through.
Assets
- TA or graduate mentoring experience.
- Experience in one‑on‑one student support (e.g., tutoring).
- Workshop design and facilitation experience.
- Group presentation experience.
