Micaela Kelly

Micaela leads the development and implementation of sustainability programs, events, campaigns, partnerships and communications that advance engagement across campus and within the broader community. Her portfolio includes student initiatives such as Green Residence and the Student Leadership Certificate, employee programs including Green Office, Green Labs and the Sustainability Certificate, and sustainability events such as Earth Month, Bike Month and Waste Reduction Month. She also oversees communications for the Sustainability Office, including social media, newsletters, news content and other channels that promote sustainability initiatives, achievements and opportunities for involvement.

Micaela brings a unique combination of sustainability and engagement experience, spanning environmental organizations, University of Waterloo Food Services and Co-operative & Experiential Education, where she has built programs, partnerships and communications that engage diverse audiences and advance institutional goals.

Micaela remains active in community networks related to sustainability, including:

  • Vice-chair of the Waterloo Public Library Board
