A company headed by a Waterloo Engineering alumna is getting a $1-million investment from a federal Crown corporation.
“The investment from EDC will help us both further develop our technology and expand into the U.S. and other markets as we work towards becoming a global company,” Pawluczyk said in a media release.
Based in Waterloo, P&P uses patented imaging technology and artificial intelligence to assess food composition and quality, and detect contamination by foreign objects in processing plants.
Pawluczyk became CEO of the company, which was started by her father and her brother, in 2004.
The EDC provides financing, inusrance, bonding and other services to help Canadian companies sell their goods and services in foreign markets.
