Engineering students Motaz Al-Ashhab , Anuja Chokshi, Astor Wong, and Eric Wong won 2nd place (plus the bonus prize!) at the Innovative Designs for Accessibility (IDeA)  student competition, held at the OCE Discovery Conference earlier this week. 

A systems design engineering professor and team of graduate students are the recipients of two Magna Cum Laude awards presented at the 2016 Annual Meeting of the Imaging Network of Ontario held in Toronto at the end of March.

Two first year students in System Design Engineering are featured on the UWaterlooLife blog this week, Jessie Won and Tara Yuen, for their winning widget design at the Portal Hackathon. ​

The next big innovation to hit the marketplace could be among the Waterloo student projects on display at the annual Capstone Design symposia beginning March 16. 

Senior-year engineering students at Waterloo will exhibit projects ranging from a technology that reduces agricultural water waste through intelligent irrigation systems to a device that may help people with Parkinson`s disease avoid falls.

Robert Amelard, a PhD student in SYDE, was on the popular science TV show Daily Planet on the Discovery Channel to showcase and demonstrate the breakthrough research on non-contact imaging of blood flow by Robert and his supervisors Alexander Wong, Canada Research Chair in Medical Imaging Systems, and David Clausi, both of the Vision and Image Processing Research Group in SYDE.

The Engineering Institute of Canada is pleased to announce the 2016 recipients of its senior awards and fellowship inductees. The senior awards of the EIC are the highest distinctions made by the Institute and are awarded to deserving engineering members of its technical societies.

Four recipients will be presented with senior medals at the 2016 Awards Gala ceremony in recognition of their outstanding achievements or service to the engineering profession. In addition, 20 engineers will be inducted as EIC Fellows for their exceptional contributions to engineering in Canada.

The University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, has built a new research center dedicated to the development of greener and intelligent vehicle technologies
