Associate Professor Jane Mah Hutton has contributed to two recent publications.

Her introduction to Cornelia Hahn Oberlander on Pedagogical Playgrounds explores the intersections of active play, ecological thinking, urban development, and the enthusiastic and often-playful advocacy of Oberlander’s writing and practice. The book, a curated selection of writings by the famed landscape architect dedicated to children’s right to play in urban environments is avaiable now from Concoria University Press.

Cambridge 2023 Hunger Forum at Waterloo Architecture

This is a great opportunity for YOUth (grade 6 and up), community leaders, school representatives, and you to take part in helping us tackle the issue of hunger in our community.

During this half-day event, the Cambridge Food Bank will lead an interactive and compelling fun-filled day. Kindly hosted by the Waterloo University School of Architecture, we will not only learn about food security in our area, but also:

The University Tenure & Promotion Committee has awarded Philip Beesley the designation of University Professor.

The University of Waterloo owes much of its international reputation and stature to the quality of its eminent professors. University of Waterloo recognizes exceptional scholarly achievement and international pre-eminence through the designation 'University Professor'. Once appointed, a faculty member retains the designation until retirement.

Masterworks 2023 Exhibition: The Signs That Define

The University of Waterloo School of Architecture presents Masterworks 2023, an annual showcase of exemplary graduate student thesis projects. This year’s exhibition is curated by alum Kurt Kraler around the themes explored in his graduate thesis “The Generic Spectacle” and his recently released book “The Signs That Define Toronto”, published by ERA Architects and Spacing.

Leslie Woo (BES '83, BARCH '84), CEO of Civic Action, a respected city leader with more than 25 years of experience building sustainable communities and shaping urban development in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
