Michigan Dune Goldenrod
Solidago psammophila J.A. Peirson is rare species recently described endemic to the dunes of southeastern shore of Lake Superior in Michigan.
The species is disguished by having heads that are significantly larger than S. hispida, but is otherwise similar to robust individuals of S. hispida. The species is only known at the tetraploid level 2n=36 (Peirson 2022). The species was included in the review of the cytogeography of S. subsect. Albigula as sp. nov. (Semple 2022).
