White-haired Goldenrod

Solidago albopilosa Braun is a very rare species found in sandstone "rockhouse" formations in northern Kentucky.  It is similar to S. flexicaulis, but has densely hairy stems (Semple & Cook 2006 FNA). Solidago albopilosa is listed as threatened by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Federal Register 1988).  The species is tetraploid 2n=36.
