Solidago arguta var. boottii

Boott's Cut-leaf Goldenrod

Solidago arguta var. boottii (Hooker) E.J. Palmer & Steyermark is a western race of the species with infrequent populations occurring further east.  It is characterized by having hairy fruit like var. caroliniana, but the leaves are sparsely to moderately strigose along the abaxial veins (Semple & Cook 2006 FNA).  The range of the variety is shown under S. arguta.
