Michigan Dune Goldenrod
Solidago psammophila J.A. Peirson is rare recently described species endemic to the dunes of the southeastern shore of Lake Superior in Michigan. The species is distinguished by having heads that are significantly larger than S. hispida, but is otherwise similar to robust individuals of S. hispida var. hispida. The species is only known at the tetraploid level (2n=36; Peirson 2022). The species was included in the review of the cytogeography of S. subsect. Albigula as sp. nov. (Semple 2022).
