The University of Waterloo is organizing the discover of the elements listed out in a timeline -- the elements are all represented in blue hexagons another collaborative project!
To celebrate 2019 International Year of the Periodic Table, starting May 15, 2018, teachers and educators can apply for an element to design. Our goal is to have chemistry students from around the world join together to create an original and imaginative version of the Timeline of Elements focused on their discovery. 

To celebrate 2011 International Year of Chemistry, we organized a student-designed collaborative The Periodic Table Project. The project was a great success, resulting in a poster, wall mural and free mobile app.   Periodic Table Project app screenshot

    The University of Waterloo is proud to announce that one of its former Department of Chemistry students, German Augusto Gómez-Rios, will receive one of Canada’s most prestigious academic awards at Spring convocation: the Governor General’s Academic Gold Medal.

    The United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed 2019 as the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements, and the Faculty of Science is celebrating by creating a new Timeline of Elements.

    Jake Fisher, a Lab Instructor in the Department of Chemistry has been chosen as one of four recipients of this year’s Distinguished Teaching Awards by the Centre for Teaching Excellence.
