Researchers create a tool to determine the games and user experiences individuals will like

University of Waterloo researchers have developed a novel tool that will enable user experience designers to create more effective, personalized games and marketing campaigns.  

Celebrate the 2018 Outstanding Performance Award recipients

"I am very pleased to announce the award recipients for 2018, and would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them for their outstanding contributions to the University of Waterloo," writes Vice-President, Academic & Provost Jim Rush. 

What makes a performance and design compelling? In recent years there has been an exploratory focus on the opportunities virtual and mixed realities present to the entertainment world, and theatre is no exception.

Congratulations Stavros!

We are pleased to announce that Stavros Stavroulias has been chosen to represent the Faculty of Arts 2019 graduating class as its valedictorians at the afternoon convocation ceremony on June 12, 2019.  
 
Stavros was selected from a group of nineteen nominees, following a presentation of his speech on Thursday, March 21, to a committee made up of Faculty of Arts students and faculty.
 
Stavros is completing a Bachelor of Arts joint honours degree in Speech Communication and Medieval Studies.

Speech Communication Student Krista Duncan: Arts Co-op Student of the Year

Every year, six exceptional co-op students, one from each faculty, are recognized by the University of Waterloo for their contribution to their employer, their community and the further development of experiential education.

Gill Lesperance can often be found covered in sawdust — not only here at work but also at his own business, G&G Carpentry. Gill started his company approximately 3 years ago as an outlet for his custom projects such as built-in bookshelves, cutting boards, salad bowls, a skate board, an electric guitar and anything else that can be made of wood.

Naila Keleta-Mae, Assistant Professor with Theatre and Performance,  has a busy summer ahead of her.  Naila has begun researching black girlhood, performances of black girlhood, and what we can learn from it – as opposed to black womanhood, which Naila has traditionally researched.
