To cap off Global Entrepreneurship Week, we are happy to share a video of young entrepreneur Imran Jiwa. Imran, a University of Waterloo undergraduate student studying Arts and Business, has a strong entrepreneurial spirit, which naturally led him to the Conrad Centre. Imran is currently enrolled in Conrad’s BET300: Foundations of Venture Creation course, an introductory undergraduate course that guides students through processes of turning an idea into a venture. Course instructor, Wayne Chang, noticed Imran’s talent early on:
When [Imran] interviewed for my course, BET 300 – Foundations of Venture Creation, I was very impressed by his years of business expertise and depth of experience while still just an undergraduate [student]. He brings critical perspectives to share with fellow young entrepreneurs in the class group, and openly helps to build the entrepreneurial ecosystem at uWaterloo.” Wayne Chang
At 19 years old, Imran is Co-Founder and Managing Partner at IMHO Stocks. He is heavily involved in the entrepreneurial scene on campus. In addition to taking BET300 through Conrad, he was previously a part of the VeloCity Residence, and won VeloCity's Twitter contest in Fall 2012. Recently, Imran co-judged this term's Entreprise Co-op (ECo-op) midterm pitches which gave away $16,000 in total prizes and the Nicol Entrepreneurial Awards' elevator pitch competition.
