This spring term, two batches of Enterprise Co-op (E Co-op) students pitched during (two) Ignition Week(s) - meet the spring 2023 pitch winners!

Overbeeke Family Entrepreneurship Excellence Award

The Overbeeke Family Award is awarded based on the development of an outstanding presentation, business model and plan review, clarity of business description and preparedness to lead a venture or social enterprise. One scholarship of up to $5,000 will be awarded each term between Spring 2022 and through to Fall 2024.

Briefbuddy is a web-based learning tool that turns meetings, lectures and any conversation into concise, insight-packed notes in real time, allowing our users to keep their hands free and their minds focused. We aim to cater to students, especially those with ADHD or APD, and international students, and expand to support institutions and businesses.

E-Launch Awards

The E-Launch Awards are presented to a number of winners each term, with a panel of experienced judges awarding $5,000 each.

Threads of Aquila is small business that creates small handmade plushies of different beloved franchises, ranging from hand-sewn dolls of video game characters to pins of TV show characters. Everything is created by hand, allowing everything to be as customizable as the customer want.

Athena's Cakes is a cake business based in Waterloo that combines lighter desserts with custom designs. Its specialty lies in vintage, picture and lunchbox (bento) cakes.

Safi is a non-profit providing East African farmers with a cost effective and accessible pasteurization handle that cleans milk from any pathogens and prevents the spread of diseases.

Hylidae Designs provides in-demand jewelry with a focus on environmental conservation. With every purchase, customers receive themed jewelry representing different endangered species in Canada and a portion of the proceeds goes to charitable environmental organizations.

NateSoju is a comprehensive one-stop-shop service that specializes in designing and fulfilling merchandise for carefully selected influencers. Their distinctive marketing approach ensures that all parties involved can generate profits while minimizing risks.

Communication Arts and Design Practice, and Fine Arts Studio Practice

YouCreations by Julia produces and sells greeting cards and prints of artwork by up-and-coming award- winning artist Julia You. Her portfolio includes work in a variety of media and subject matter, including landscapes, portraits, still life, and a growing collection of Broadway fan art, reflecting her passion for musical theatre.

at.market aggregates domain names and allow users to register custom email addresses. They have users from all over the world, but the prototypical user is a young, male programmer.

OneBuy is a tech-enabled group purchasing platform that groups businesses with similar buying interests such that they can buy products, items and supplies together at a discounted group rate. This allows businesses to have a similar buying power to bigger companies in their respective industries.

Norman Esch Engineering E Co-op Team Award

The Norman Esch Enterprise Co-op Team Awards provides a funding opportunity for student teams in the E Co-op Program. Each eligible team member will receive $2,500 at the start of the work term.
