Award description:
One scholarship valued at $5,000 will be awarded annually to a full-time graduate student whose research is in the fields of fluvial geomorphology, river and stream processes, or river and aquatic habitat protection and restoration. Selection will be based on the student’s anticipated research contribution and academic excellence. Preference will be given to applicants who are conducting research within Ontario. The Water Institute will administer an annual scholarship application and selection process during the Fall academic term. This award was established by friends and family in memory of John Parish.

Eligibility & selection criteria:
- Full-time graduate students registered in a water-related research program.
- Preference will be given to students whose research focus is in the fields of fluvial geomorphology, river and stream processes, or river and aquatic habitat protection and restoration.
- Preference will be given to students conducting research in Ontario.
- Candidates must have a minimum cumulative average of 80% or equivalent in their last two years of full-time academic study.
- The Water Institute will administer an annual application and selection process in the Fall academic term.
