Award description:
Several awards will be presented annually to full-time undergraduate students in Year Two, Three, or Four and/or master’s students in the School of Architecture. Selection is based on submission and review of a project that demonstrates excellence in sustainable design, and that exemplifies careful consideration of materials, details, placement, and orientation of fenestration. First place will be awarded $3,000, second place $2,000, and third place $1,000. Interested students may apply by submitting their project to the Director of the School of Architecture by May 1. This fund is made possible by a donation from Pella to support student success and innovation in fenestration.

Eligibility & selection criteria: 

  • Full-time undergraduate students enrolled in Year Two, Three, or Four or graduate students registered in the master’s program in the School of Architecture in the Faculty of Engineering. 
  • Selection to be based on the review of a project that demonstrates excellence in sustainable design, and that exemplifies careful consideration of materials, details, placement, and orientation of fenestration.
  • Students are eligible to receive this award multiple times.
  • Interested students may apply by submitting their project to the Director of the School of Architecture by May 1.
  • The School of Architecture will advertise the award and select recipients normally each Spring.
