Award type:
Scholarships
Award description:
This fund was established by University of Waterloo staff and faculty to enrich UWaterloo's scholarship program, recognize academic excellence and provide opportunities for children of UWaterloo faculty and staff. The funds available each year will be used for graduate scholarships that, whenever possible, will generate external matching funds. While the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) and the Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science & Technology (QEII-GSST) programs are in place, only holders of OGS or QEII-GSST scholarships for study at UWaterloo are eligible; and priority will be given to children of UWaterloo faculty and staff. Approximately $350,000 (which will generate $17,500 annually) has been contributed to this endowment fund as a result of the demutualization of the company that managed UWaterloo's life insurance plan.
