Value description:
The goal is to provide several awards annually valued at $500 or $1,000: $1,000 for recipients who receive the UW tuition benefit of 50% or less (or no tuition benefit at all), and $500 for recipients who receive the UW tuition benefit of 100%.

Eligibility & selection criteria:
  • Open to graduate students (full- or part-time) enrolled in a degree program at the University of Waterloo.
  • Awards will be distributed equitably among graduate and undergraduate students based on enrolment and/or award application numbers.
  • Must be a current member of the UWSA, or be a child, spouse, grandchild, or dependent of a current UWSA member.
  • Must be in good academic standing (minimum 70% cumulative average).

  • Recipients will receive the award payment in their current or next study term, as applicable based on student’s enrolment.
  • The online award application will include a declaration form wherein the student will provide the name and department of the UWSA member and their affiliation to that member.
