Roy Brouwer is one of four recipients of the 2021 Arts Award for Excellence in Research. Started in 2012, these awards recognize exceptional contributions made by faculty and staff at the University of Waterloo. 

Corey Van de Waal is a continuing lecturer in the Department of Economics. After developing and teaching ECON 254: The Economics of Sport for the past eight years, he's ventured in the publishing world with the release of Economics and the Sports Industry. It is available through Kendall Hunt Publishing Company.

Can you provide a bit of background about yourself and the areas of economics you focus on?

The Faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo is seeking to fill a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (CRC) and tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with an anticipated (flexible) start date of January 2022. The applicant will be an exceptional Indigenous scholar who has a demonstrated commitment to engaging both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students and community members in teaching and research activities and whose work will contribute to one or more of our academic units.
