The University of Waterloo Engineering Program is based on the cohort system. Each incoming student is associated with the Class with whom they will graduate. Within each class, there are three cohorts of blended electrical and computer engineering students. You will normally remain within your cohort from Frosh Week to graduation. In order to see the sequence of Academic Terms you or other students will progress through your undergraduate career, you may view the various Cohort Progression Charts.
Why do I Need This Page?
You will need this page if:
- You would like to take a course offered by one of the other programs and are trying to determine when to do so (for example, if you are in the mechatronics option),
- You are attempting to arrange an 8-, 12-, or 16- month Co-op Work Term,
- You are switching programs (e.g., between computer and software, or electrical and nanotechnology),
- You failed a course and are trying to determine the next term the course is being offered, or
- If you have failed a term or been required to withdraw from your program, and you are trying to determine when you can come back.
Description
In this document, Table 1 shows all streams of the electrical, computer, mechatronics, software, and nanotechnology programs. Tables 2, 3 and 4 show the cohort progression charts for the computer, electrical, and nanotechnology programs, respectively.
