Speaker

Professor Lin Gui, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China

Topic

The Advances of Space Information Network and Its Key Technologies

Abstract

Space information network (SIN) is a heterogeneous network, which contains satellite network as the backbone and a variety of aircrafts, satellites, ground stations and terminals with space communication capability. In SIN, the various types of satellites deployed in different orbits and performing different tasks can be connected wirelessly with terrestrial systems. Therefore, it can provide integrated communications services for a variety of complex space-ground applications. In this talk, the research background, core scientific problems, challenges and up-to-date development in the SIN will be presented. Moreover, the key research technologies including the prospective network architectures, resource management optimization and communication protocols design for the China featured SIN will be discussed.
