Electrical and computer engineering alumnus, Tejinder Singh, has won the Young Engineer Prize for his paper "Reconfigurable PCM GeTe-Based Latching 6Bit Digital Switched Capacitor Bank" at the 2020 European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference (EuMIC).
The EuMIC is the premier European technical conference dealing with microwave integrated components whether based on silicon, III-V material or photonics. It has established itself as a key contributor to the success of the overall European Microwave Week and remains the largest scientific event in Europe related to microwave integrated circuits.
Tejinder Singh completed his PhD degree at the University of Waterloo under the supervision of electrical and computer engineering professor, Raafat Mansour, in April 2020; he is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), and a research associate in Professor Mansour's research group.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Indigenous Initiatives Office.
