Overview

The Environment Capstone Symposium is part of the growing Capstone ecosystem across the University of Waterloo. Event participation is by course.

Student submissions and resources

Students participating in the Capstone symposium are asked to adhere to the following steps

Step 1: Confirm your participation by submitting your project abstract and team information to be included on the website and event program by March 3 at 11:59 pm

  • Need help with your abstract? Use this free Abstract Coach by Ben Graham (2026), Velocity, University of Waterloo, to support.

Step 2: For complimentary printing, submit your poster via email by March 12 at 4:00 pm. Submissions received after this will be at cost to the student(s). A 20% discount will apply.

FAQs

  • The poster display portion will take place in two sessions to allow students time to engage meaningfully with community members and their peers. 
  • Setup location and engagement session will be assigned once all abstracts have been received. Poster display will take place across EV1, EV2, and EV3.
  • All posters will remain up throughout the event, regardless of your engagement session.
  • Students are only required to be at their posters during their assigned engagement session.
  • Student teams will rotate between presenting and engaging with peers and guests
