The overarching goal of the campus-wide Excellence Canada initiative is to help further the University’s Strategic Plan and eight strategic themes, particularly supporting the theme of a “robust employer/employee relationship.” This initiative aligns with the University’s foundational pillars as well as the Library’s four strategic directions, mission statement and values.

The Library will work with the campus to create a sample implementation pathway for bronze level certification. A key benefit will be the Library obtaining bronze level certification to Excellence Canada’s Excellence, Innovation and Wellness Standard by November 2014. At that point, the Library will review the process for the bronze level and determine how best to proceed with silver certification.

The Library’s short-term goal is to utilize the Excellence Canada Framework as a national standard to validate and build on the foundational work that was accomplished during the recent Library Review.
