The Department of Fine Arts and UWAG present the second in the series of thesis exhibitions by Master of Fine Arts (MFA) candidates from the graduate program in Fine Arts at the University of Waterloo. MFA Thesis gives the campus and community-at-large an opportunity to see the end result of two years of intensive research and studio production by emerging visual artists.

The latest animated film by Fine Arts Alum Chris Williams (BA '90) has been nominated for an Academy award in the Best Animated Feature category. The Netflix feature “The Sea Beast” is the story of legendary sea monster hunter whose life is turned upside down when a young girl stows away on his ship and befriends the most dangerous beast of them all.

Currents: Indigenous Film & Video Screenings

An hour-long program of short films and videos by Indigenous women artist focusing on the environment curated by Nina Czegledy from the VTape collection.  This is part  of Agents for Change | Facing the Anthropocene, a media art exhibition co-curated by Nina Czegledy and Jane Tingley for THEMUSEUM. The exhibition will bring together contemporary, thought-provoking, and important national and international new media projects on the theme of environmental change.
