Lake Workshop: Improving Weather Forecasting Models with Satellite Data assimilation

Tuesday, April 11, 2017 9:15 am - 3:00 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

The aim of the workshop is to focus on assimilation of remotely-sensed data on lake surface state in pre-operational Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) for improvement of the weather forecast in the Canadian Global Environmental Multi-scale Model (GEM). This workshop will provide an opportunity to identify the gaps in current NWP models and how these could be addressed in future.

UW Lake Workshop agenda  includes a list of speakers in this workshop.

If faculty, graduate students or postdoctoral fellows are interested to attend this workshop, please contact Homa Kheyrollah Pour, h2kheyro@uwaterloo.ca until Thursday April 6.
