An exciting and fully-funded opportunity is currently available. Our collaborative research team is seeking a graduate student with deep interests in estimating retail market potential and land-use change. The successful applicant would be funded through a combination of teaching assistant positions in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Waterloo and internship positions funded by Mitacs.
Teaching assistant positions would be in the field of Geography and Environmental Management and may require additional preparatory work for applicants without the relevant background. Internship positions are held in combination with industry partner(s) and will provide the successful applicant experience working with industry. Applicants with knowledge and skills using Geographic Information Systems, programming, Census and Statistics Canada data, and/or experience estimating market demand and supply will be at an advantage. However, we are in search of the best applicant and fit with our research team.
Funding is available for Canadian residents only. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements for admission to the Department of Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Waterloo (http://geograd.uwaterloo.ca/programs/masters.php).
Interested applicants should send an undergraduate transcript (official or unofficial), an example of your writing, and a statement of interest describing your fit for the available position to Dr. Derek T. Robinson (dtrobins@uwaterloo.ca). The position will remain open until filled.
