GEM Congratulates Student Award Recipients

The Department of Geography and Environmental Management is very pleased to announce the award winners for the 2014-15 academic year.

Canadian Association of Geographers Award

Presented each year by The Canadian Association of Geographers to the most outstanding student graduating in each Geography honours/majors programme at universities or colleges across Canada.

Department of Geography and Environmental Management Academic Achievement Award

Awarded to the top graduating student in each program

  • Geography – Owen Sutton
  • Geomatics – Jin Wen Liu
  • Geography and Aviation – Spencer Leckie

Richard B. Rodger Memorial Prize.

The book is presented in May of each year, on the basis of marks, to a Geography and Environmental Management student completing the third year of study.

John MacKay Memorial Award

This award is presented annually to a Co-op Geography and Environmental Management student who is completing their 4B term. Candidates are selected on the basis of good academic standing, work-term performance, and broad involvement in the Co-op program and class activities.

Herb Nemeth Award

One award is presented annually to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in Year Four of Honours Geography and Environmental Management and who has completed the Environment and Development Specialization with the highest overall average. This fund is made possible by a donation from Herbert Nemeth.
