The Dean of Environment Nominating Committee, based on the information considered to date, unanimously recommended professor Jean Andrey for consideration by the constituency as the next dean of the Faculty of Environment for a five-year term beginning 1 July 2015. Information about Professor Andrey, the search process, and opportunities to meet with her on Friday 13 March 2015 are available on the committee website.

In August 2014 Andrey took over as interim dean replacing André Roy, who resigned to accept the position of Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science at Concordia University in Montreal.

"I am honoured to be chosen by the Nominating Committee to lead the Faculty of Environment," said Andrey. "I look forward to working with the University and broader environmental community on this, our next chapter."

As a professor in Geography and Environmental Management, Andrey is one of the longest-serving faculty members in Environment. She is the past president of the Canadian Association of Geographers and is highly regarded as a teacher and mentor to undergraduate and graduate students alike.
