Equity

There is a variety of resources available on campus to support equity-based initiatives and learning how to create a more inclusive environment for all.

W3+ = Waterloo Womxn + Nonbinary Wednesdays

W3+ is a community of womxn and nonbinary grad students, postdocs, staff and faculty. The purpose of W3+ is to foster a social and support network among womxn and nonbinary members of the UW community. The group offers a safe space to discuss ideas, present research, and raise awareness about gender and sexuality at the university.

Women’s Centre

The Women's Centre aims to provide a female-positive and supportive environment on campus for women and trans* folks. Run entirely by dedicated student volunteers, it holds workshops, film screenings, and guest lectures.

Breast Milk Storage

If you are expressing breastmilk, there are storage options available. You can arrange this by contacting the Equity Office at equity@uwaterloo.ca.

SPECTRUM

SPECTRUM supports the wellbeing of 2SLGBTQ+ people in Waterloo Region.

Glow Centre for Sexual and Gender Diversity

Glow is the oldest continually-running university-based 2SLGBTQ+ group in Canada. Run entirely by dedicated student volunteers, Glow promotes a healthy attitude towards all sexual orientations and gender identities on the UWaterloo campus by providing a wide variety of peer support, social events, advocacy work, and resources.

Racial Advocacy for Inclusion, Solidarity, and Equity (RAISE)

RAISE works to partner with the University of Waterloo to acknowledge and address the impacts of racism and xenophobia, using anti-oppression approach to dismantle systemic barriers that limit the success and affect the experiences of students of campus.

Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre (WISC)

The Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre (WISC) is a friendly space on campus where you can connect with other Indigenous (First Nation, Inuit, and Metis) students and members of the Kitchener-Waterloo community. WISC is located in United College at the University of Waterloo.

Indigenous Resources and Allyship

The Office of Indigenous Relations provides information on resources and allyship for anyone interested in learning more about indigenous cultures, terminology, and colonization in Canada.
