Shatitsirótha’! The Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre (WISC) is committed to providing support to Indigenous students at UW!
WISC provides support to Indigenous students through a holistic lens: cultural, academic, well-being, and social engagement. It is an environment that is supportive, respectful, inclusive, and welcoming for all Indigenous students on campus.
We welcome Indigenous students from all backgrounds, regardless of status, reserve or urban background, or level of cultural knowledge.
If you are just starting your reconnecting journey or were raised with teachings, we have the resources to support you, and if we do not then we are open to suggestions.
The WISC staff are here to guide, support and listen to you as an Indigenous student on campus.
If you are an Indigenous student, YOU are welcome at the WISC!
Come join one of our soup lunches on Thursdays from 12-2 pm, or just come check out the space and meet other students
