Each year Corporateknights Magazine recognizes exceptional young Canadians shaping our sustainable future. The Top 30 Under 30 Sustainability Leaders list highlights activists, entrepreneurs, students and professionals from across Canada and worldwide, each showing outstanding leadership on sustainability issues. It comes as no surprise that our very own Truzaar Dordi, a University of Waterloo doctoral candidate at the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development, and a two-time recipient of the Energy Policy Research Fellowship with WISE/Energy Council of Canada for his work on climate finance has been selected. “As a scholar, I am thankful for the University of Waterloo and the Faculty of Environment for the freedom to pursue the research I am truly passionate about and for providing a platform for me to share my work.”

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
