In response to the outcome of a recent cybersecurity audit, as well as a planned rollout of new cybersecurity standards to address significantly enhanced cybersecurity compliance requirements at the institutional level, we have changed the way University email is managed and have updated the Email Server Guidelines to reflect this change.

IST is enabling sensitivity labels in the Microsoft 365 environment. These labels will be required for all files stored in OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams, as well as all emails sent using Outlook.

During 2022 and early 2023, the Endpoint Management – Consultation project team investigated implementing Microsoft Azure Intune to secure and manage University devices. Based on the feedback and data gathered during this consultation phase, it was recommended to proceed with the implementation of Intune on University devices.

Information Systems & Technology (IST) will begin work this year to refresh the University’s core network equipment. Current network technology is nearing end-of-life, providing an opportune time to review the current environment and institute changes that will improve performance and allow for the optimization of the core network components as future demand requires.
