Borja Peropadre: Switchable ultrastrong coupling in circuit-QED and relativistic simulations

Abstract

In this seminar we will see one of the most amazing features that the field of circuit QED has given rise, namely, the interaction between radiation and matter in the so-called ultrastrong coupling regime. In particular, I will present several circuit QED designs that allow us to make this ultrastrong interaction tunable in strength and kind. We will see how these setups can be useful for different quantum informations tasks, such us performing ultrafast quantum gates in circuit QED, or extracting temporal quantum correlations from the vacuum and transferring them to a pair of superconducting qubits.
