Abstract
Classical Computation in Quantum Spin Structures
Can we design, build and operate atomic-scale logic circuits that perform conventional binary computation using only the spin degree of freedom?
I will review progress towards this goal, highlighting the development of Spin Excitation Spectroscopy, a new spectroscopy which allows us to measure g-values, exchange energies, anisotropy energies, ground and excited-state spin configurations and spin lifetimes of individual atoms and assemblies of magnetic atoms on surfaces.
This is a joint lecture with IQC, WIN and CIFAR
Reception to follow in the EIT foyer
