Virtual seminar by Martin Plenio, Universität Ulm
In this lecture I will introduce some of the questions that we may wish to answer in quantum biology. Then I will focus on excitation energy transport in photosynthetic complexes. I will explain the crucial role of the interplay of quantum coherent evolution with environmental noise and provide an explanation of the origin and nature of the long-lived coherences that have been observed in the recent 2-D spectroscopy experiments of the FMO complex.
A Q+ hangout is a broadcast seminar using the hangout feature of Google+. Participation is limited at the moment. IQC was given one of the available slots.
Organized by Daniel Burgart
