KI-X 2012 exhibit installation

KI-X 2012 appeared in the University of Waterloo Art Gallery in East Campus Hall over March Break 2012. The installation took place from Wednesday to Saturday, with a gala opening Sunday evening, and display to the general public Monday through Wednesday.

A lot of planning went into the design and execution of the exhibition.
The wall panels were all prepared independently before installation.
Some panels were specially painted with magnetic chalkboard paint.
Joined together, the panels formed the walls of the exhibits.
After erecting the walls, didactics and displays were hung with care.
Although much work was done in advance, there was more to do during the installation.
Some exhibits relied on elaborate dioramas. Here, a cacao tree "grows."
Complete, the exhibition was ready to receive visitors.
Visitors took in four different exhibits, along with a special "meta-exhibit."
The "meta-exhibit" discussed museum exhibits, and featured authentic objects like this pocket watch.
