We are pleased to announce that Katie Plaisance was selected as the University of Waterloo’s recipient of the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA) Teaching Excellence Award for 2022.
This award "recognizes educators who excel at unlocking the potential of Ontario’s young people. Successfully engaging individuals in the learning experience depends on an instructor's ability to spark students' curiosity and desire to learn."

The Journal of Integrative Research & Reflection (JIRR) is a student-run, peer-reviewed undergraduate academic journal. Hosted by the Department of Knowledge Integration at the University of Waterloo, JIRR aims to provide a venue for cross-disciplinary work done by undergrad students---be it applied research which employs multiple ways of knowing, creative projects that disrupt disciplinary boundaries, or theoretical work on cross-disciplinarity in undergraduate education.
The KI students in INTEG 452: Real World Problem Solving taught by Paul McKone in 2020/21 took on the challenge of collaborating with the University of Waterloo Earth Sciences Museum and worked with them to create a virtual tour.

We are pleased to announce that Kathryn (Katie) Plaisance has received a 2020-2021 Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) Teaching Award for her outstanding contributions to the quality of higher education at Ontario’s universities.
We are pleased to announce that Eric Kennedy (BKI'12), is the 2021 Faculty of Environment Young Alumni Inspiration Award recipient. This award was established in 2013 to celebrate alumni who graduated less than 10 years ago and whose early professional or academic success, contribution to the community and contribution to sustainability inspire the next generation of environment graduates.
KI professor Rob Gorbet is a collaborator on Grove, the Living Architecture Systems Group’s (LASG) invited contribution to the 2021 Venice Biennale of Architecture, which opened May 22.
Our students had valuable opportunities where they applied their KI learning were supported in part by the KI donor-funded Knowledge Integration Experience Award.
