Design is more than making things, or making things pretty; design is about making things better. This course introduces design-thinking as a universal skill for seeking solutions to complex problems.
A series of group-based, real-world projects – coupled with individual observation and reflection – encourages students to develop habits and apply skills in collaboration and problem-solving. The final group project is an open design challenge based on students’ observations throughout the term.
