It was a beautiful sunny day on Wednesday, June 7th, perfect for the Library’s Spring Recognition BBQ. This year, the Library honoured 15 staff members who are celebrating special anniversaries with uWaterloo Library!

Knitting is the New Yoga – Introducing the Library Knitting Club

Are you interested in knitting? No matter what skill level you are, the Library Knitting Club always has a spot for you! Started in January by two of our library colleagues, Steph and Hannah, the club hosts a knitting event every other week for anyone who likes to knit, crochet, talk or just enjoy a cup of tea. Library Love and Blind Date with a Book

In celebration of Library Lovers month, uWaterloo Libraries is launching brand new Library Love button designs! Four collectable designs will be available starting on Monday, February 13th at any of our Library locations. In addition to releasing new buttons, the Library will also be launching the very popular Blind Date with a Book! In its third year running, Blind Date with a Book invites readers to take a chance on a book!

Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is one of the most important traditional holidays in China. January 28 is Chinese New Year’s Day for 2017 according to the Lunar Calendar. The celebration usually starts on New Year’s Eve, when families gather for an annual reunion dinner. At the event, people exchange gifts, pass along warm wishes and give “red envelopes” to children while enjoying lots of delicious food.

Extended Hours

It is the time for Extended Hours again! Starting November 27 and running through to December 22, we are in the Extended Hours period for the Fall 2016 term. We have summarized a few important points for students and staff to be taken away during the Extended Hours.

Button design contest winners!

The Library Outreach committee asked students to design the Library's next ten buttons. Students submitted designs from October 1st to 21st, and the Outreach committee pared down the submissions to the top ten. We asked our patrons to vote for their favourite. And the winner is...

Remembrance Day

On November 11th at 11:00 a.m., the University of Waterloo takes a moment of silence to remember and honour Canadians who have served, and are continuing to serve, our country.

Here at the uWaterloo Libraries, Circulation staff will turn off the lights and step back from the desk to observe Remembrance Day.
